We get asked a lot by our clients what our policy is on using our blog images for facebook and/or other social networking sites. Personally this shows us that they truly love our images and we love that they want to share them with everyone. We encourage our clients to use their pictures from our blog on the internet or tag themselves on our facebook images. But here are a few do’s and don’ts that you should think about when reposting images:
1) DO include Kanda Studios and our website under the images (a link would be super nice!).
2) DON’T crop out our logo. Unless you have paid for the digital negatives don’t alter the files in anyway. We use our blog to advertise our work and do so as a courtesy to give our clients a sneak peek. If a client crops out the logo then how will other people know who took the picture?
3) DON’T edit the picture in any way. Taking the pictures is only half of our job. The other half is editing.
4) DON’T try to print the files from our blog or facebook. These images are low resolution files (for the web) and are too small to be printed even in a 4×6 size. Why invest in a session then print the images off of the blog and not pay for prints. Make sure you know the prices before you hire us as to avoid the "need" to copy them. Same goes for scanning prints that you already bought.
Feel free to contact us about using our images for any situation. We love when people want to use our images, and we'll work with you to get you what you need.
