Kristen & Ben are Engaged!

 

Kristen and Ben have been dating since 2007. The first time we actually met Kristen was the day we took Ben's senior portraits. A little over a year ago Kristen left for an 11 month long mission's trip that traveled all over the world. The day she came home, Ben was at the airport with all of her family. He patiently waited down a flight of stairs during her tearful reunion with everyone. When she finally ran down to him, he was on one knee before she hit the last step. We were so honored to be there capturing their beautiful engagement, and now, their engagement portraits. 

We got together with them last Wednesday to take their portraits. Can you believe it was over 100 degrees when we took these images? These two are one of the most romantic couples we know. We can honestly say we hardly had to pose them. They are so in love and it shows!

 

 

 We are so excited for their wedding this September and can't wait to attend as guests. We are so happy that Ben has met such an amazing girl, and we can't wait to finally call her family!

Gift Certificate Winners!

Last year Kanda Studios donated a gift certificate for use in a Howard County Library silent auction with proceeds benefiting the library's educational initiatives. Tia and her family were the lucky winners of that certificate.  Last weekend, we met them at Patapsco State Park to honor the certificate and capture some great photos of her family.  Although it was hot and muggy (the trend in Maryland lately), we had a lot of fun during the session.

Jacob is One!

It's hard to believe it's been a year since we photographed Jacob as a newborn. Now he is old enough to walk around, and even drive his own 4-wheeler! We had a great time in Old Ellicott City last week capturing these images. Here are just a few of our favorites.

Lisa contacted us about doing a session of Sophia and Shayne at Brookside Gardens, where she was married about 8 years ago. This was a gorgeous location and will be added to our list of recommendations for future sessions! Maybe one day we will get the opportunity to photograph a wedding here.
